Hi, I’m Donna
I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and I’m passionate about helping families feel confident, supported and empowered throughout their feeding journey.
For more than 21 years I’ve worked in NHS maternity services, supporting parents and babies through those incredible first days and weeks together. From caring for babies in the neonatal unit to helping new mothers on postnatal wards, I’ve been privileged to support hundreds of families as they navigate breastfeeding and early feeding challenges.
I’m also a mum to four wonderful children and a proud grandmother to two, so I understand that every feeding journey is unique. I’ve experienced the sleepless nights, the worries, the questions and the moments of joy that come with welcoming a new baby. That’s why I believe every family deserves compassionate, evidence-based support that is free from judgement and tailored to their individual needs.
Whether you’re preparing to breastfeed, struggling with latch or milk supply, experiencing pain, combination feeding, or simply looking for reassurance, I’m here to help you find what works best for you and your baby.
How I can support you
Every consultation is completely personalised because no two families are the same.
Together we’ll explore your feeding journey, discuss any concerns you have and work towards practical, realistic solutions that fit your family’s needs.
During your consultation I will:
- Take a full breastfeeding and feeding history.
- Observe a full breastfeed and assess your baby’s latch and positioning.
- Identify any feeding challenges and explain what’s happening.
- Create an individual feeding plan tailored to you and your baby.
- Provide ongoing WhatsApp support afterwards, so you have someone to turn to with questions or reassurance as you put your plan into practice.
My aim is not just to solve feeding problems, but to help you feel confident, informed and able to enjoy this special time with your baby.
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me with a cup of tea in hand, pottering in the garden, travelling whenever I get the chance, or making precious memories with my grandchildren.
I know that feeding isn’t always straightforward, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’d love to support you, wherever you are on your journey, and help you and your baby find your own rhythm together.
